Apples of Gold Reunion on Monday, September 29th at 6:30 pm, for anyone who has ever been a part of Apples of Gold. We are meeting at Nancy Smith’s home.

Jam for the Lamb on Sunday, September 28th at 6:00 pm. Join us for this upbeat service. Paul Lemay will be speaking on “The Power of Prayer”.

101 Discovering the Church – Are you interested in knowing more about Christianity or would you like more information on our church family? Scott will be teaching the 101 Class on Saturday, September 27th. The class will run from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm with lunch provided. Sign up at the Welcome Center if you would like to attend. Please make your own childcare arrangements.

Pleasant Meadows Craft Sale and Luncheon on September 25-26th. The proceeds of this sale are used for daily activities and special programs for the residents. Items for sale include wreaths, doilies, table arrangements and holiday items. The luncheon is on Thursday, September 25th. Please bring a salad to share. Judy Mentzer will be the speaker. She is the wife of the Senior Minister at 2nd Church of Christ in Danville, teaches children on Sunday mornings and leads a Bible Study among other activities. You will enjoy her humor and inspiration!

Donations for the PMCV Craft Fair – Contact Andrea Rotramel (253-6394) as soon as possible if you have something to donate to the craft fair.

Pleasant Meadows Shopping Cart – During September we are collecting the following items for the Shopping Cart at Pleasant Meadows. Candy bars (mini-size, 10 pack smaller bars, Diabetic candy bars), Kleenex tissue (any brand), and chips (individual sizes – small bags, or small Pringles canister). Place donations in the large lavender box near the Welcome Desk. We will take them over on October 1st. With the candy bars and chips, please be sure to check the expiration dates and make sure they have a few months time remaining, as they are not all sold right away. Thank you so much for your help!!

PrimeTimers will meet on October 8th at 11:30 am for a Potluck Luncheon. We will be entertained by Strings Attached. Bring a dish to share. Join us and bring a friend!

Operation Christmas Child – Donations may be placed in the red box near the Welcome Center. Suggested donations and more information is available on sheets near the donation box.

A new Apples of Gold class will begin on October 6th and will run through November 10th. It will meet weekly on Monday nights. Apples of Gold is a mentoring program that equips older women to train younger women through biblical lessons and a weekly sharing time together. Ladies, sign up at the Welcome Center if you would like to participate. Call Nancy Smith (253-2819) for more info.

We are beginning now to collect items for the School Supply Give Away for next fall. We will be collecting a different item each month. This month we are collecting book bags. If you have any questions, see Scott or Kelly Clarkson (217-369-0271).

Ladies – You are invited to a Women’s Inspiration and Salad Supper at First Christian Church in Villa Grove on October 9th at 6:00 pm. Traci Hannah will be the speaker. Please bring a salad to share. If you would like to attend, please contact our church office (Chris or Linda) by September 28th.

Welcome to First Christian Church! Please join us for our worship services Sunday morning.

New Worship times starting September 28 are 8:00 am (traditional with hymns) and 10:30 am (contemporary). Classes for all ages, nursery – adult, meet at 9:15 am; classes for preschool and grades 1-4 are available at 11:00 am. The Children’s area, nursery – grade 6, is located on the northwest wing of the building (left as you enter the building). Children’s church for grades 1-4 meets at 11:00 am in the room labeled 3rd & 4th grade / 5th & 6th grade. Classes for adults and grades 7-12 meet in the southeast wing.

Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
